It is a building for the Department of Logistics and supply operational services of the University, responsible for the storage and distribution of supplies to the academic units. The architectural proposal for the new building of the Central Warehouse UFMG basic premise was to explore the technical and construction details have consolidated the practice of construction of the University in order to optimize design time and work, as well as dramatically reduce implementation costs. Under this goal, the intention was to create a variation in the landscape incorporating architectural elements from their context. The design allowed the rapid execution simply by building systems and economically viable, consolidated through other works of the institution.

The proposed building is situated in the Pampulha campus of the Federal University of Minas Gerais, in an area adjacent to the Press and the gas station, and close to, the Administrative Unit II. The building houses the Division of material (DIMAT), the heritage sector, in addition to files Rectory, Directorate of cultural and community action and adapting its facilities to the current demands of infrastructure, operation and security, enabling the drive to maintain and optimize their dynamic work. The overall design of the building from the idea of the modular joint between the spaces. Was developed for the proposed loop module 4.00 x 4.00 meters. The block was oriented with the facades and major openings facing north and south directions, in order to ensure better performance and thermal comfort luminic, reducing the incidence of direct sunlight, as recommended by the Master Plan of the University.

The first floor has a ceiling height of 3.85 m free, enough to ensure the work dynamics and preserve the comfort and safety of users and goods. Every caxilharia was designed to eliminate crates and ensure ventilation and privacy settings. The second floor has a ceiling height of 2.80 m free, enough for your use, rental of files general files, as well as the tops of the employees. The building was equipped with security system and prevention system for fire fighting.

Was made a system capture and use rainwater for use in toilets. As well as the use of solar water heating for showers locker rooms of the employees. The warehouse NBR9050 followed fully for the demands of universal accessibility and Instruction Brazilian rules for public buildings.
